Annyeonghaeseyo my dear merry goers! Sorry for the lack of updates because I went back home for my birthday and Christmas and my schedule has been so packed! My past few updates has been focusing so much on food, I totally neglected the beauty readers so here's the latest news with #MiriamBeauty! Korean makeup has been a trend and it sure does not look like it will be fading anytime soon. With so many different Korean makeup brands, some of the popular well-known brands are like Innisfree, Etude House, Face Shop which are more of drugstore brands to high end ones like IOPE, Laneige, Missha, Hera and etc. In the past, we had to purchase it online or get our hauls during trips to Korea but now there have been so many brands entering Malaysia! Following the bandwagon is MCC Cosmetics from Korea which is actually the acronym for My Cherie Closet Cosmetics. Jin Ye Sol is the brand ambassador for MCC Cosmetics and to be honest I actually have never heard of this brand before a little birdie invited me to the launch.

Coincidentally,  I was around on the day of the launch and well being MIA for so many events recently I obviously had to check this brand out. "More Creative, More Creative" is the brand's Philosophy which encourages customers to go wild and express their style using MCC products.

The launch was attended by several celebrities and models which really made the whole event rather happening. As MCC Cosmetics first flagship store is located in One Utama, you can imagine the crowd in front of the store. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the official group photo, it was time to show the highlights of MCC Cosmetics.

The makeup artist of MCC Cosmetics demonstrated two different makeup looks on the model both male and female, showcasing the versatility of the products which is suitable to be used for both male and female. One of the highlighted product is their Lip Tint which is super pigmented and long lasting as well as their makeup base products. There were two question and answer session where Rane won more goodies from MCC Cosmetics :)

Now it was time for us to actually enter the store and check out all their products. The shelves were full of different cosmetic products from Face, Lips, Eyes, Cheeks and etc. MCC Cosmetics have a wide range of nail products as well and their nail colours are really pretty especially for Christmas!

They have a wide range of Face products from their liquid foundation, compact powders, cushion foundation to BB creams and many more.

For those out there who are looking for gifts to give your female friends, you can also choose the selection of makeup palettes and products to pack it in their gift bag. I am sure that the receiver will be very happy with the products.

We were also given the chance to test out their products and here's Jessy getting her makeover. These products are really very suitable for both the young innocent Korean style makeup as well as the Western party look.

Now these are the products I have to rave about because I LOVE THEM! Trust me, if you were there you would have seen my eyes shine and sparkle at these eye shadow! I am in love with their eye shadows especially the single colour selection. The Glam Queen Eyes (RM65 each) are gorgeous, pigmented and to die for. One swatch of it and I just had to get it especially the 301 Shine Violet and 302 Miracle Violet shade. It has very subtle and small glitters which just glimmers slightly under the light making it suitable for both day and night looks. I really do not like glitter shadows that have large particles which makes it look rather tacky. The rest of the colors are really super pigmented too and did not have a lot of fall out when applied.

This is another feature that makes MCC Cosmetics interesting where they have a range of Green Tea products like their Green Tea mascara and Green Tea Pen Eyeliner. Although I have not tried these two products but I do know that green tea is a very good antioxidant product so I definitely would want to see what are the benefits of these product range.

As I have mentioned earlier, their Lip Tints are some of their popular products and my oh my they are seriously pigmented. I am still in that phase of using lip tints instead of lipsticks because I prefer a gradient lip look instead of bold lips so I would normally go for lip tints. One problem about really long lasting lip tints is that they can get rather dry on the lips especially if you have dry lips, you will have to keep touching up your lip makeup. MCC Cosmetics lip tint was surprisingly moist and had a nice shine to it like a mixture of a lip tint plus a lip gloss and it is not drying as well.

Honestly, I was out the whole day before the launch that night and my makeup definitely doesn't look as good as I would like it to be so the makeup artist helped to give me that touchup I need. She just used three products to give me that flawless but natural look which is the Perfect Finish Pore Pact which seriously gave me that smooth skin with just one brush! Adding on the lip tint and blusher to give me a natural flush and my face is all ready! That Perfect Finish Pore Pact is amazing and equivalent to all those photoshop to give you a smooth clear complexion. The photos above are without editing!

Honestly, for a brand that I barely know I am genuinely surprised and delighted with the range of products MCC Cosmetics have. Although slightly on the higher price range, if you are looking to try out their products I totally recommend the Glam Queen Eyeshadow, the Perfect Finish Pore Pact which will give you effortless touchups without getting cakey and their Lip Tints. Just get one of each and you will not regret it.

Happy holidays my dear merry goers! Sorry for the lack of updates these few days because I am back in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate not only my birthday but also Christmas! I love the Christmas season and my schedule has been packed to the brim from the day I touched down at KLIA. From making my own Dark Chocolate Rocky Road Chocolates to give out to my friends and family to meeting up with all my loved ones whom I missed dearly plus attending several events which I have been missing out the past few months. This includes the sneakpeak of the Clothes Buffet Malaysia Season 3 2016 where Poh Kong is one of the main sponsors!

It's the year end and 2015 is coming to an end. To commemorate 2015, Poh Kong launched their Poh Kong Year End Festive Collection and oh my I must say they are extremely gorgeous and totally the best gift to give to your loved ones. These specially curated jewellery pieces will make you the centre of attention during all the Christmas and year end dinners to end 2015 with a blast!

Tranz Nature's by Poh Kong captured the wonders and beauty of nature's splendours making them not only gorgeous nature inspired pieces but also a timeless piece you can immortalize for generations to come. From honeybees to whimsical butterflies, this collection captures nature's beauty in gold and diamonds making it a hit for jewellery lovers.

Not only that ANGEL™ Diamond by Poh Kong showcases a rare and alluring icon of light, a reflection of perfect light and pure brilliance and the most perfectly proportioned square diamond in the world. Cut only by the world’s finest diamond artisans with the most advanced diamond cutting technologies, the intricate designs of ANGEL™ Diamond is set to capture the heart of your angel.

Among all the exquisite pieces in the collection, here are the TOP THREE pieces on my wishlist. So Santa, please make my dreams come true! Now let's see which three pieces were the strong contenders!

1.  Multiple Joy Series

There are four different ring sets in the Multiple Joy Series and I can totally understand why they named it Multiple Joy. These rings are just so pretty!

My eyes sparkled at the sight of them. I love how the rings are an assortment collection of gold white gold and definitely the current favourite rose gold all embedded with diamonds. You can pair the ring sets or wear them seperately and match it best with your own personal styles. The Multiple Joy Series just exudes young and lively vibes going along well with this festive season.

My heart was torn between selecting my favourite in the Multiple Joy Series but in the end my heart was drawn to this just gorgeous, simple and elegant ring set. The rose gold is just to pretty to resist and I liked the simplicity of the diamonds embedded in it. The decision was a close call with this set which was so pretty I kept looking back and forth. I'm such a sucker for feminine pieces like this.

2. Diamond Allure Earrings

Now that my fingers are well taken care of with the Multiple Joy Series time to adorn my ears to this just so eye-catching piece! That whimsical butterfly is just too pretty to resist and I am just out of words to describe the elegance in the earring. I am actually not a fan of chunky earrings which sometimes take away the attention from your dress but this piece is just subtle yet dazzling enough to accentuate your style for the night. Unlike other earring designs, this butterfly design has a unique and creative manner of wearing which will give you that extra glow! Just tell me how can you not find this piece attractive!

3. Simple Elegant Pendant

Lastly, lets have something to bring out the elegance of your evening dress. Among Poh Kong's Simple Elegant series, this neck piece attracted my attention with the rose gold pendant and earrings set that resembles an exquisite harp. Just pair this piece with a long flowing gown or dress and you will be the star of the night.

With so many different pieces from each collection, I had a difficult time selecting my Top Three favourite pieces and to those out there who are looking for gifts, these are really some amazing gifts that will make the receiver very happy.

So be sure to drop by Poh Kong to embrace the New Year with Stylish Elegance!

Ho Ho Ho. It's the Christmas season my dear merry goers and you can definitely feel the season in the air with all the festive decorations in town. To get ready for my favourite holiday season yet, one must definitely look good. I haven't had a hair cut for ages and has been looking really limp and out of shape. Last month, when I was back in town for a few days I decided to get my hair a little pampering to give it back some volume and definition.

I've blogged previously about my experience having a hair treatment using La Biosthetique at Andy Ho and really had a nice pampering time there so I decided to leave my hair in the hands of their Senior Hairstylist, Alvin this time to give my hair some new breath. I have seriously unruly hair and I hated my hair when I was younger. I always had the boycut and couldn't grow my hair out or else it would look like I came out of the Science lab with an experiment gone wrong! Due to this, I am super fussy about anyone who touches my hair what more actually cutting it. I have countless bad experience letting my hair being cut by well hairstylist who totally do not understand my hair and the one tool that I hate the most is that razor scissors thing that hairstylist use to layer my hair the fast way instead of taking time to layer it one by one. My hair would go all frizzy and fuzzy seriously the nightmare from it! Somehow, as I grew older my hair started to calm down and be more tame plus I found a really great auntie who had a home salon where she really rescued my hair.

Anyway to cut the long grandmother story short, my hair wasn't giving me much problem but because I have not been getting a hair cut for a long time, I could feel the weight of my hair actually weighing me down and making my crown flat which is a NO NO. I needed more volume especially at the top of my head and also to shape around my face.

Alvin Or, is the Senior Hairstylist at Andy Ho Haute Coiffure and is really super friendly and easy to communicate with. I told him that I really didn't want to compromise my hair length which means definitely no short hair! I have had enough of short hairstyles over the years growing up and I really want to grow my hair out. He could see that it has been some time since I last had my haircut because all the layers were right at the bottom half of my hair which makes it less flattering for me. I did compromise on a bit of my length as he needed to re-layer and restyle my hair to give it more volume at the top. Alvin also recommended me getting soft perms to give my hair more texture although I had wavy hair.

First up, it was time to get my hair and scalp washed and clean. How can one not enjoy getting their hair washed? Oh the feeling of getting pampered and that head massage! Really washes all the stress away. As you can see Andy Ho is a La Biosthetique salon so they use La Biosthetique products as well as the towels. If I haven't raved enough about La Biosthetique let me rave about it more. I love this range of haircare product. It is super natural and lovely to use that I actually finished and restocked the Green Natural line which I am using currently which has green apples in it.

Now it was time for Alvin to do his magic. He seriously took the time to layer each layer of my thick hair giving it more texture and volume. Along the way, he also explained to me what he was doing and why he was doing it so that I do not get to frighten when he cuts off a chunk of my hair.

You can see he was seriously enjoying himself cutting away at my hair and yes that is my worried face because I saw more and more of my hair getting layered off. Honestly I nearly had a panic attack because we agreed that he would maintain my length compromising just a bit and when he was hacking away at my hair I saw a huge chunk of it being cut off. My heart was seriously racing especially when I saw my hair on the floor! I just decided to trust him and let him do his thing because well the worst thing that can happen is that I would have shorter hair than I liked and I am going to kill him. *joking joking*

After all the cutting, it was time to style and blow dry my hair so that I can see the final outcome. Alvin used the Volumizing line of La Biosthetique which would give me the added volume to my curls and giving it more shape. This Hydrating Spa Fluid is super lightweight and not greasy which is really great in our Malaysian weather. And yes as always, I was actually Snapchatting while Alvin was styling my hair so if you have Snapchat follow me @miriamgoh

Tada! This is how my hair looked after all that cutting and styling. I was seriously surprised that I still had my hair length after that huge chunk of hair Alvin layered off. Although I wouldn't style my hair to be this curly I liked how much volume he has added into my hair. No more limp hair that lays flat against my head! My hair was nicely layered and NO FRIZZ!! Most importantly for me is no frizz which always happen after layering your hair so great job to Alvin. I liked how my hair now frames my currently super round face making it more of a heart shape than a round moon.

Since I was in Pavilion and they were just setting up the Christmas decor, of course I had to have some photos taken! Really love Pavilion's Christmas decor this year and I really took tons of photos. By the way credits to K.Kiat Photography for all the photos and for his patience waiting for me to get my hair done!

To those of you who are looking to give your hair a new look, head on to Andy Ho Haute Coiffure at Pavillion KL and I am sure you will be really satisfied with their service.
