Olla my dear merry goers! I was going through the photos in my computer and realised that I actually forgot to blog and share about this really cute cafe I tried together with a good friend, Eden when she visited from Penang. I actually saw the cute photos of the desserts and coffee served in Flavourest Cafe and decided to bring her here after her job interview.

Located at Zenith Corporate Business Park, Kelana Jaya this quaint cafe is located just behind Paradigm Mall. Nestled among office buildings, you will spot this cafe at the ground floor of Block D. This is a bear-themed cafe so be ready to awed by the cuteness you see inside.

Mind you, these are some really old photos and from their recent photos I can see that they have added more wall stickers and other decor making the place even more loveable. As we went there on a weekday, there weren't many customers and we could enjoy taking photos as much as we want. After selecting several desserts from their selection of cakes and ordering our drinks, we started playing around and taking photos of that cute huge teddy bear which was larger than the both of us.

This huge teddy was actually at the display area and we couldn't resist taking him around the cafe for some photos. Sorry Mr Teddy for all that hugging and photo taking but thank goodness for him, our cakes started arriving so let's see what did we order on that day!

Firstly, we tried their Red Velvet which was recommended by the barista and she mentioned that they did not use artificial colouring in their Red Velvet and used natural colouring which I am assuming is from Beetroot. Price-wise the cakes sold were really pretty reasonable at RM 6.90 per slice during my visit. The cake was moist and creamy from the cream cheese frosting and I liked that it wasn't too sweet too. Plus aren't those some really pretty cream cheese rosette swirls on top of that cake?

We also ordered another cake just because it is so pretty! Gosh honestly wouldn't you order this as well if you saw it? If my memory doesn't fail me, this is a yogurt cheesecake with a chocolate rice puff base and topped with some strawberry jam and a huge strawberry on top! This dainty dessert was light and airy with the sweetness from the strawberry puree on the top. One downside was I felt the chocolate rice puff wasn't as crispy as I would like it or like how we Malaysians say "masuk angin".  However, this dessert sure is Instaworthy!

Of course one of the main points why I decided to come to this cafe was for their 3D coffee art! Ah can you see that super cute and adorable teddy just asking for a hug! The barista was really friendly when we told her we wanted 3D design and showed her what we wanted. We sure were very super satisfied when this was served on our table.

I don't even remember what coffee we ordered but the coffee was really good although we had a hard time killing this cute teddy! This 3D coffee art sure deserves more photos!

We actually ordered one more drink and we didn't even know how to touch our desserts which all looked so pretty! While waiting for our last order, we took like a thousand photos with our orders and from the photos you can definitely see this is not a recent photo. Looking back at my photos I don't know whether to cry or laugh! Need to shrink my chubby cheeks down now.

Finally our last order arrived which was the Rainbow Hot Chocolate and seriously how much more can this cafe be amazing! Look at this Hot Chocolate with the heart marshmallow on top! So pretty. Seriously when it comes to pretty desserts, we couldn't care less about the taste than how it looks like but the taste sure didn't disappoint us because the hot chocolate was creamy too.

I sure miss my tea session with Eden now that she's back in Penang and I am so glad I managed to bring her cafe hopping with me while she was in town! Flavourest Cafe sure is one cute cafe that you have to check out. Even after so many months I still cannot forget the ambiance and adorable desserts I had there.

Hello my dear merry goers! I still can't believe it is December already and I am counting down to the days I can go back home. Around a few weeks back, I managed to go home for a nice break from all this hectic issues I've been facing recently and spent a nice weekend with my sister. This time round, we were at SS2, Petaling Jaya and was looking for a nice Korean place to have our lunch. Unfortunately, the Korean restaurant we wanted to visit actually closed down so we were really randomly walking around the shops looking for a place to fill our empty tummies.

We passed by this Korean cafe, Ggomaya Cafe which I think should be quite new because I haven't seen it around. It is actually on the same row as McDonald's and just a few shops down. They had an outdoor seating area with this cute stall concept selling some street food imitating Korea streets.

After looking at their menu, we decided to try this place out since it is new and we saw they had some Korean products sold inside as well so it was like a cafe and mart combo. The one thing that caught my eye was definitely the super cute peach cake! It looks just like a peach and just so cute. There were a variety of Korean shaved ice desserts a.k.a bingsu as well so we kept in mind to leave our tummies prepared for it.

After placing our order, I walked around their products area and look what I found! The all craze Honey Butter Chip! I was so surprised when I saw it because I know that it was a super crazy popular snack in Korea and even sold out once they were placed on the shelf! I saw there was another Strawberry flavoured one but I quickly grabbed the Honey Butter Chips! I have to try it at least once because I am so curious why is it so popular.

Decoration wise, it was just a simple cafe with not much decor but they do sell some pretty authentic products and I was interested with the vinegar they had on sale too.

Then our food arrived and somehow due to some crazy craving I had that day, I ordered their Black Bean Jajjangmyeon (RM15) which came with some yellow pickled radish. Taste-wise, I wouldn't say it was the best Jajjangmyeon I have tasted but what I liked about it was that it had this homecook food taste if you know what I mean. It tasted so homely and not like those industrial restaurant kind of taste with seasonings and etc. They were generous with the toppings as well although I think a bit lacking in the black bean paste. They also used a different type of noodles compared to other places and at least they did not serve me those instant Jajjangmyeon from the packet like some places so I rather enjoyed my bowl of Jajjangmyeon. The pickled radishes were really good as well without that weird chemical taste which my sister really hates.

Every time we eat at a Korean eatery, one of us has to order a soup dish and most of the time it will be our favourite Kimchi Jjigae. This set came with a bowl of rice and steamed egg which most places don't serve with it. The soup was nice, hot and savoury with pieces of pork meat in it. I was actually surprised to know it was pork instead of the usual chicken or beef that is normally served in Korean restaurants in Malaysia. The egg had that homely taste to it as well. I honestly thought I was eating at a Korean's house instead of a restaurant. This cafe wasn't those cafes with frills and all fancy but it really served some decent homecooked Korean dishes.

Of course as I mentioned earlier, we have to try their desserts so we opt for their traditional Bingsu which I know will come with my favourite Injeolmi powder. I was surprised with some of the ingredients used in this Bingsu which wasn't the same as other places like they had sunflower seeds and chopped peanuts. Slightly disappointed with the amount of Injeolmi powder because both me and my sister personally like a lot of it but the red bean paste was good. It wasn't overly sweet and you can certainly taste that it was homemade and not from the tin. There was the absence of the traditional ddeok or rice cake that I normally find in my bingsu so unfortunately this bingsu isn't one that I would recommend. On the plus side, the ice was shaved finely and creamy so in the end we did finish this dessert. *laughs*

Overall, I wouldn't say that this is the best place to actually enjoy Korean food and there is still a lot to be improved food-wise but if you are looking for a place to get those Honey Butter Chips you can get them here and well maybe enjoy some street food while you're here too. They have daily promotion set meals for RM 10 too. I would say that their specialty would be in those beautiful Korean cakes more than the food so if they can up their food presentation it would be good.

Hello my lovelies! It's the weekend again so let me introduce you to one of my favourite spots for brunch! I used to visit one of the local swimming centres in Petaling Jaya known as the PJ Palm Sports Centre! It was my favourite place for a nice workout swim session with the sister and to my delight they opened a quaint cafe called the Jam & Kaya cafe in the premise! This was great because after a nice swim, our tummies were always growling and hungry for some good food.

Jam & Kaya is located right in the premise of PJ Palms Sports Centre and has a nice warm and cozy cottage feel to it. Decorated with some warm armchairs and wooden interior, it is really welcoming to step into this cafe after a nice swim.

Not only that great idea for these huge windows which are great for photo taking like this shot I took of my sister and her friend after our swim session. Spacious and not overly cramped, I would say they can fit about 10 tables for a full house. There are also several cakes on display but since we were here for some brunch, we will focus on some of their must haves!

Using brown paper for their menu sure gives a vintage vibe to it and the price range of the food is from below RM10 to roughly around RM20+ which I find to be quite reasonable for their portion.

First up, we ordered their Farmer's Pancake Breakast (RM18.90) which had that gorgeous sunny-sideup on top of a tower of pancakes, hash brown, chicken ham, sauteed button mushrooms and salad leaves with a drizzle of syrup. Presentation wise, it sure light up smiles on our faces and we couldn't wait to dig in.

The pancakes were really fluffy and you can see the thickness of each pancake and yes that yolk still had that runniness to it which I so adore! The pairing of savory hash brown with pancakes, some of that delicious yolk and sweet syrup was one of the best pairing I have tasted. Sweet and salty! Yums! Those button mushrooms were sauteed perfectly too leaving them still juicy and fragrant.

We also ordered one of their latest addition at that time which was the Corn Fritters (RM19.90). This brunch dish had sweet caramelised onions with chicken sausage cubes, that perfect sunny sideup and corn fritters. Paired with some tangy sauce, this definitely will leave you feeling satiated!

I couldn't get enough of that caramelised onions which were just so sweet and paired well with the rest of the dish. If you are a fan of caramelised onions, I would recommend you getting this too.

Lastly, we had the must have brunch dish which is the Egg Benedict (RM16.70). Who can deny the glorious pleasure of that perfectly poached egg with the creamy Hollandaise sauce over some chicken ham and freshly baked croissants?

Although I would prefer the Egg Royale which came with smoked salmon instead, this pairing was just so good. I just cannot say no to Egg Benedict. The Hollandaise sauce was light yet creamy pairing well with that super flaky croissant. This was the dish the sister's friend picked but we couldn't help but picking at it.

Overall it was a really great experience dining at Jam & Kaya and I will surely come back and have another brunch session! Who's up for a nice swim before that?
