♥Miriam MerryGoRound♥
Powered by Blogger.
Hi everyone! Got some news for my dear readers. I have decided to change my blog title and URL to Miriam's MerryGoRound at http://miriammerrygoround.blogspot.com!

Wondering why I changed it? Well, my previous blog URL was rather difficult to tell to others since it was using my chinese name. Even since primary school teachers and friends have a hard name pronouncing my name. Anyhow, I started blogging for personal reasons and to vent out my inner feelings but since now I'm starting to blog for more reviews, products and events, I've decided to change it to something that people can relate to. Why MerryGoRound?

Well, I love Merry-go-rounds. They remind me of a whimsical place with fun and laughter. How the lights flicker in a fairy-like way. On the other hand, it also reminds me that what goes around comes around, that the world is round and no matter how hard things may be at times easy times will come about as well. Besides the literal meaning of using merry-go-round, it also represents me as a blogger! Going around searching for new things, new places to discover, yummy treats to fill my tummy, new people to meet and new experiences and knowledge to make me a better person.

Anyhow, this product review on Matis will be the first post for Miriam's MerryGoRound :)
Maybe some of you may remember me posting about the launch of Matis Malaysia at Passion Road, KL. You can read about the launch here.

I was given their products to try out how well Matis works and today I will be sharing with you about their cleanser and lotion for Reponse Vitalite.

Reponse Vitalite comes with an cleansing emulsion and lotion. The cleansing emulsion is for you to remove all the dirt from your skin which includes after a day out or even to remove your makeup. I use this after a long day at work to remove all the dirt and makeup on my face.

Hello everyone! I'm back with another beauty review. This time it is on body lotions by Enchanteur Paris!

Firstly let me give you Lesson 101 on body lotions!

What Are Lotions and It's Benefits?
Body lotions are lotions applied to the body after bathing. They contain more water than body cream to hydrate, smoothen and soften the skin. There are several benefits of using body lotion:

Moisture
  • Oils that are in lotion give skin moisture and elasticity. They are absorbed into the skin, repairing and soothing dry skin.

Protection

  • The same oils in lotion that repair dry skin can also prevent irritation from dry skin. Also, if a lotion contains SPF, it can help prevent sun damage.

Anti-Aging

  • By using lotion to protect against sun damage and dry skin, you can help minimize the aging process. Dry skin that loses elasticity and sun damage can cause wrinkles and fine lines.

Skin Color

  • Some lotions contain additives that can either lighten or darken the appearance of skin pigment.

Scent

  • Most lotions contain fragrance oils that can be used for a light scent. The scent is less potent than perfumes or colognes and is beneficial for people who desire the scent but are sensitive to stronger perfumes.

Enchanteur Paris is a range of fine quality French-inspired fragrances and fragrance-enhanced toiletries for the young, romantic and elegant female. When Enchanteur first appeared on the market I was totally swooned by the fragrance! To those who love Enchanteur as well, listen up! Enchanteur also has a line of body lotions suitable to moisturise your body and to give you that exclusive Enchanteur fragrance. Thanks to Butterfly Project I was given the chance to review all four of the body lotion in the series!

I've heard of Lazer Tag for quite some time but never had the chance of experiencing the fun! So it was great to have the chance to zap fellow butterflies in this fun game of tag ^__^

It's been a long time since I last had Sakae Sushi but ever since the quality of food at Sushi King is going downhill, I had the chance to try out Sakae Sushi once more with a good friend of mine :)

Was surprised that the quality of food at Sakae Sushi has improved and the prices of food there is quite reasonable. Was kinda tired of dining at Sushi Zanmai, so for one weekend the family decided to have a meal at Sakae Sushi. The following food selection are what I would personally recomment.

Firstly, some introduction about Sakae Sushi:

At Sakae Sushi, freshness matters! It is a hit among Japanese food lovers for its delicious yet affordably-priced fare and is a kaiten sushi-concept restaurant. Air-flown weekly, Sakae Sushi ingredients are selected from top suppliers around the workd and stringently checked to ensure total freshness, quality and nutrition.

One of Sakae Sushi's must try selections is the salmon sushi range. Prepared with the freshest and most premium salmon directly air-flown from Norway, finers can take their pick from a mouth-watering variety that includes the classic Salmon Sushi and Sashimi, Hana Maki, Lobster & Salmon Roll.

Sakae Sushi also tends to those who fancy something apart from salmon or sushi as there are over 250 delectable choices such as sashimi, yakimono, nabemono, tempura, Japanese noodles (ramen, soba and udon), donburi and bento.

[From : Sakae Sushi Malaysia ]

One thing different about Sakae Sushi is that their menu! They actually use I-pads for their menu instead of printed menus. This is a great way to order your food as you don't have to wait for the waiter/waitress to take your order because you can just send your order to the kitchen using the I-pad.

Using the I-pad which is also interactive actually can help boost their sales as while you are waiting for your food, the I-pad will keep on flashing other food options which help promotes their menu! Great idea ^__^

Hello! I'm back with another healthy recipe to share! I am sure most of the time you want to prepare spaghetti or tomato soup, you would buy those in cans and bottles at your local supermarket. Do you know that those products actually have a lot of preservatives added to them especially ascorbic acid? In the long run, these artificial preservatives and flavouring will worsen your health. Canned tomato sauce also have a very high amount of sodium in it which can cause hypertension!

Today, I will be sharing a recipe on making your own homemade healthy tomato paste with no added preservatives, flavouring or colouring. It is super easy to do and you just have to spend a small amount of time to get a healthier version of tomato sauce.

Firstly, purchase some tomatoes from your local grocery or market. Get those which are orange-reddish in colour. Try to get those which are not too soft. Next make sure you wash your tomatoes well and get rid of any pesticide on the tomatoes. You don't want to be consuming those chemicals.

Wash your tomatoes

Next, I am going to share with you a great tip on removing the tomato skin. You can opt to retain the tomato skin but you won't get a smooth paste if you do not remove the skin. To remove the skin, make a small cross section at the bottom of the tomato as shown in the photo below.

Make cross cut section

There have been so many reviews about this new Korean cafe that popped up at Sunway Pyramid that me and the sister could not resist paying it a visit. It is located in front of the escalator near AEON. First some introduction about Caffe Bene

[Source: Wikipedia]

Caffe Bene is a coffeehouse chain based in Seoul, South Korea. It was founded in May 2008 by Sun-Kwon Kim, current CEO of Caffe Bene. Caffe Bene is the largest coffeehouse in South Korea in terms of the number of stores. Caffé Bene is designed after European open-air cafés. The word "Bene" in the brand name comes from the Italian word for "good." This brand is combined with the European open-air atmosphere and traditional Korean culture of "Sarangbang". Like other coffee chains, Caffe Bene sells brewed coffee, hot and cold beverages, pastries, croissants, sandwiches, waffles, gelato, and so forth. In addition, Caffe Bene features Misugaru, which "consists of black sesame seeds, black bean, black and brown rice and barley". According to PR web, Misugaru "is rich in vitamins, calcium, magnesium, molybdenum, folate and selenium". Misuragu drinks are a feature that differentiates Caffe Bene from its competitors such as Starbucks and Coffee Bean

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the opening ceremony of Caffe Bene where Kwang Soo a.k.a Giraffe from Running Man, a hit Korean variety show came to officiate the launch.

Entrance

Caffe Benne displays some of their popular menu at the entrance to the cafe. These include waffles, toast and their signature Bingsu.

Thanks to Bag of Love, I had the chance to visit Malaya Optical at Damansara Uptown for a mini tea party. I wanted to check out the deals at Malaya Optical and also get my eyes and the boyfie's eyes tested. It's been a while since I had an eye checkup. The store is located at the same row as Starbucks. Just walk on down and you will see the Malaya Optical signboard :)

I was the first one to reached the store and was welcomed by Ryan Ho himself! Let me give you a brief introduction to Malaya Optical.

Hey everyone! I'm back with another super duper easy recipe that you can do in a jiffy! For parents out there, your kids can also help you prepare this super easy and tasty meal. This recipe is also suitable for vegetarians.

Today I will be sharing a recipe using mushrooms! Actually saw these mushroom on sale at AEON, Sunway Pyramid and couldn't resist buying them to cook. They are super cute. ^___^
My Japanese Mushrooms

Anyway, let me introduce the mushrooms to all of you :) I bought my mushrooms in packs of three which means I get three different varieties of mushroom to try out! Firstly, meet the Japanese Brown Beech Mushroom. Shimeji Mushroom is the thrid most popular mushroom in Japan, after shitake and enoki. They are also known as beech mushroom because they often grow on fallen beech trees.

These mushroom have a white base and speckled brown caps which are so pretty. Reminds me of a giraffe. They don't have a strong aroma but once cooked they have a smooth and crunchy texture. They also have a buttery and nutty taste. Please remember, you have to cook these mushroom before eating!
The Brown Beech is not only flavourful but also very healthy. It provides a significant source of niacin and is a good source of protein, fiber and antioxidants. This mushroom is also cholesterol-free, low in calories and a tasty meat substitute. So to all those out there who are vegetarians or are dieting, this is a great ingredient to consume!

Happy weekends people! Been having a very busy week so have not been updating my blog. However, I've got a special treat for everyone. Going to start a recipe section for my blog and I'll start of with a Sunny Mango Popsicle recipe! This recipe is super easy to make and also very healthy. For mothers out there, you can make this very easily for your children or even for those out there who are dieting but crave for some yummy cool dessert without the calories, you can try out these Mango Popsicle!

All you need for this recipe is:
  1. Ripe mangoes (cubed)
  2. Milk of your choice
  3. Honey

Ingredients needed: Mango, Low fat milk and honey

I actually had a batch of super ripe mangoes at home and I don't really like eating overly ripe mangoes. So I decided to turn it into something yummy that the family will love! First, you cut your mangoes and de-seed it. Just place your mangoes in your blender or food processor and add some milk. You can choose to add cream instead of milk but since we're making a healthy sweet treat, I chose to use low fat milk. I added roughly 50 ml of milk but this recipe really depends on how creamy you want your popsicle to be.
