Mary Kay Dream Beautiful™ Contest


The third annual Asia Pacific Grand Finale of the Mary Kay Dream Beautiful™ Contest finally came to an end on the 23rd of February 2015 at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, Hong Kong. This contest recognizes the strong bond between Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and their customers, centering on making dreams come true. Three gorgeous aspiring models were finally chosen as the new "Face of Mary Kay Asia Pacific" and one Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant as "Beauty Artist of Mary Kay Asia Pacific". The Mary Kay Dream Beautiful™ was supported by official fashion sponsor Nine West, who provided the wardrobe of contestants for the Grand Finale show. 


More than 100,000 women from Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Taiwan, from all walks of life teamed up with a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant to participate in the Dream Beautiful Contest and three of our Malaysian representatives were selected to go through to the final round. 


One of them being my high school mate Rachel Yong Mei Ling! She has always been a gorgeous and friendly girl even back in high school so I definitely showed her my support and gave her my votes when I saw she was joining this contest. Really glad for her that she was one of the three Malaysian representatives.


More than 500 Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants, media and VIPs witnessed 22 pairs of Dream Beautiful™finalists from across Asia Pacific in a runway show and oh boy am I so jealous when I saw that international supermodel Karolina Kurkova was one of the judges! Super love her especially on The Face and she actually gave runway tips to the finalists. The other judges includes Korean celebrity makeup artist Sunjin Kim, Mary Kay Global Makeup Artist Luis Casco, and global fashion and beauty photographer Jason Capobianco. The 22 pairs of finalists definitely learned a lot of makeup tips, modelling tips and photography tips during the whole competition.


Congratulations to our own Malaysian representative Corvina Chong who was announced as one of the three Grand Final Winners alongside Zhang Ying from China and Crystal Fung from Hong Kong! Their outstanding makeup looks and performance on the runway best represented the three qualities Mary Kay was looking for which are Confidence, Passion and Elegance. All of them will attend a Mary Kay global photo shoot in New York and recognized in Mary Kay Applause Magazines in the Asia Pacific Region as well as presented with speaking opportunities at Mary Kay Seminars for the Independent Beauty Consultants.
