Are animal proteins the best sources of protein compared to plant sources?
The truth is, we can get protein from and/or plant sources. Some examples of plant sources:
- Beans
- Lentils
- Legumes
- Nuts
- Seeds
- Soy
- Tofu and others
Although plant sources are typically lower than animal sources they have other benefits like being higher in fiber and other nutrients. It is recommended to eat a balanced diet with a variety of protein sources to get an adequate amount of all amino acids.
